Actually the name Gary, "The Local Brush" comes from the Hot Rod and Hi Performance Car magazines. They have written numerous articles and his work has graced the cover of more than 25 national car and motorcycle magazine publications since the mid-sixties. More recently, Autoweek magazine wrote a 5- page article on Gary's teachings at the Center for Automotive Arts & Refinishing. He has since turned his attention to automotive fine art, full time.

 

Gary is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, in New York City, from which he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honors. His paintings now hang in public and private collections.
Gary has built, national award winning show cars and motorcycles. The now very sought after and valuable Baldwin-Motion Camaros and Corvettes of the 60's and 70's were restyled and painted by the "Local Brush."
Using urethane paint and state of the art techniques, and the automobile as a canvas, Gary's love for the art of painting has earned him numerous competitive awards.
